DEATH SUMMONS AARON HULTGREN - Highly Respected Citizen of Green Lake Dies at the Age of about Sixty-five.

Again the grim reaper enters our community and claims one of our old and respected residents. Aaron Hultgren, proprietor of the [sic] Tippetonka Hotel at Green Lake, died last Thursday, July 29, at 9 o'clock a.m., from cancer of the stomach. Deceased first felt the sickness coming on about the first of the present year. He failed slowly and the best of medical aid could not help him. He was confined to his bed about two weeks bore the end came, during which time he never once complained, and he passed to his eternal rest with his loved ones gatherd around him. Mr. Hultgren was a man of sterling qualities, and was loved and respected by all who knew him, and while the loss to the community in which he lived is great, the loss to the family is too deep for words. Thru his ambition he built hp a home at Green Lake which is an honor to him and the community in which he lived. Deceased was born in Virmland, Sweden, Aug 22, 1844, where he spent his boyood days. In 1867 he came to this country and his first stopping place was St. Paul, where he remained about three years. On Jan. 2, 1870, he was married to Miss Inga Anderson, and in July of the same year the happy couple left St. Paul and came to Kandiyohi county, where they engaged in farming in the town of Mamre. In 1881 the family moved to Kerkhoven, and Mr. Hultgren engaged himself in the mercantile business, which business he conducted until June, 1895, when he moved to Green Lake, where he resided until the end came. Besides a loving wife, he leaves eight children to mourn his loss, namely: Monie of Kerkhoven, Mrs. M. Negaard of Rothsay, Mrs. F.A. Lundgren of Willmar, Victor of Kansas City, Mo., and John, Fredolph, Aldrich and Mable who are staying at home. The funeral took place on Thursday at 4 o'clock p.m. and was largely attended. Services were held at the home by Rev. A.F. Seastrand and the remains were laid to rest in the Lebanon cemetery in this village. The pall bearers were M. F. Lundquist, S A. Paulson, O. Backlund, S. Hanson, C. H. Parker and S. C. Hillman. The sorrowing family have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
